“Drievuldigheden” is een spannend nieuw avontuur in portretfotografie. Tot nu toe probeerde de portretfotograaf iemands uiterlijk zo goed mogelijk te capteren – en als het even kon ook een stuk van zijn wezen te vangen.
In “Drievuldigheden” gaan we op zoek naar de wezenskenmerken die de individuele mens overstijgen. Vader en zoon, moeder en dochter: wie zijn ze echt, wat bindt hen, wat hebben ze gemeenschappelijk, in wat verschillen ze? Het is boeiend om zien hoe uit twee afzonderlijke portretten een derde (gemeenschappelijk) karakter ontstaat, dat een nieuw licht werpt op de afzonderlijke geportretteerden en wie ze echt zijn.
Een eerste tentoonstelling met “Drievuldigheden” greep plaats in de Sint-Michiels vredeskerk in Leuven, van zaterdag 6 oktober tot en met zondag 21 oktober 2012, in het kader van de Maand van de Spiritualiteit.
De volgende maanden en jaren worden er voortdurend nieuwe portretten aan de collectie toegevoegd, en worden er nieuwe tentoonstellingen gepland.
“Trinities” is a thrilling new adventure in portrait photography. Until now, portraits tried to capture the body of a person, and eventually his soul.
In this new project, we’re searching for the essentials that transcend a fellow human being. “Trinities” wants to capture the characteristics that bind father and son, mother and daughter. Who are they really? What do they have in common, where do they differ, what is the sum of their characters? It’s intriguing to see how from two different faces emerges a strong and clear new character that transcends the both of them, and that shines a new light on who they really are.
The first exposition of “Trinities” was hosted in the Sint-Michiels “church of peace” in Leuven from October 6th-21st 2012 during the Month of Spirituality. The Sint-Michiels church proved to be the ideal environment for this project, since it’s mission is to stimulate the dialogue and peace between different cultures, religions, ways of being…
During the following months and years, new portraits will be added to the collection and new expositions will be planned.
