The Concept of the Original Sin is as astonishing as it is simple: from the very beginning, mankind is doomed to suffer. While the cause is the discovery of god’s knowledge, the results are the obligation to labour and the vicissitudes of sexual lust, and every child born is victim to those.
My friend the artist Tom Herck created his own Paradise in the Catacombs of a former industrial building Sint-Truiden. It’s really a cathedral filled with his work and his studio – and the heart of it is a boudoir referring to his grandmother’s brothel. Tom invited me to commit a number of sins in this exceptional space – even the Snake from the Original Sin was present!
